How it all started...
The charter for Kawkawlin Community Church was signed in April of 1921 and the building broke ground on June 21, 1921. The passion and desire of the founders was to be "an effective witness to the love of God made known to us in the redemptive work of Jesus Christ." They wanted to live out the Word of God and stood upon the doctrines of the early Church. The founders wanted to have a place for those in the Kawkawlin community that believed in Jesus to come and glorify his name.

Expanding the vision...
KCC remained faithful to its initial vision for many years. However, the world around it had greatly changed and it faced new challenges. In 2022, KCC found itself without a pastor and attendance declining. Questions about its future began to arise. God used a group of interim pastors to show the need of a new direction. Major constitutional changes were made and a new vision began to grow - a vision that exceeded the borders of Kawkawlin Township.
Where we are headed...
In the fall of 2024, Kawkawlin Community Church was replanted as Foundation Church and adopted a new Statement of Faith and strategic plan leading them into a new work for Jesus Christ. In a world that is deconstructing and de-churching, Foundation Church desires to stand firm upon the Word of God of which Jesus Christ is the cornerstone. We will do this as we Love God, Love People, and Make Disciples of Jesus Christ.
We acknowledge that the history of Church is filled with a broken people being redeemed by a Holy God. It is a messy story filled with messy people. By the power of God we rejoice that when a people confess and turn from their sin, God redeems. Our story is not about how good we are but about how good God is all the time!
